I havn't really been in the world of looking for new computers, for the past 3 years.
Can someone tell me simply, what is the approximate difference in speed between the Personal computers of the past 2 years and of the next one year or so?
Duo?
Quad?
Octal?
Q6600?
AMD? Intel?
Desk top? lap top?
I'm THAT confused at the momment.
What's latest estimation of speed of Q6600/octal/other?

The way to go is Core i7 !!
I have a topic with the fastest computers you can find with a chess test, using TogaII .All the results you find here:

What Intel is doing is amazing. I never thought they'd be able to keep improving their technology if AMD is no technical competition, but clearly they are doing so.
