Fritz 10 update?

Post by Peter Skinner »

Whenever I try and login to the Playchess server to see if I have updates, it tells me my product is up to date.

The GUI version that I have is Sept 4, 2007, and surely there has to be updates since.

When I try and use the following url to get an update:

www.fritzserver.org/updates/gui10.msi

The file downloads fine, but I keep getting errors about montenegro something or other when I start the program, and I can not change the board colors. I get empty error messages when I try to change them.

Anyone have any idea if I even need the upgrade and where to get the correct one?
I was kicked out of Chapters because I moved all the Bibles to the fiction section.

My update is Oct. 2006, and i have not had one problem that would cause me to want to change that. Of course i dont do much analysis- just run matches. Unless you are having problems of sorts, personally i would not worry about it. The great majority of Fritz gui updates cause more problems than they solve anyway.

PS: If you dont even know if you need an update or why- chances are tremendous that you dont. (Most want the latest- i just want a stable one.)

The latest updates were for R3 and internet updates.

I would think you should use the latest ones, if you
want to test R3 or another engine with your new book
in engine room.
