Crafty 22.8 vs Phalanx XXII

Post by oppiet30 »

I have been running these two together for the past week or so. And Crafty resigned about 5 times. They are on there 31 game and Crafty mates Phalanx again. Phalanx has never resigned. I think Crafty is doing good. Keep up the good work. Wish crafty had an option to play itself like Phalanx does.

If this shouldn't be in here. Then please move it to where it should go thanks.

pretty easy to get it to play itself using Xboard, just use it for both fcp and scp

Because Crafty writes out files to its directory, if you want to have it play itself it's best to install it twice in different locations.

Phalanx has a commandline option to allow resignation. '-r<value>', where -r500 means resign if down by a rook or more. If this option is not specified, Phalanx will never resign.

If you want to turn resigning off, just add "resign=0" to the .craftyrc/crafty.rc file, and the program will stop resigning and play all games out to the bitter end.
