From Toga forum:
If you edit uci-file like:
Toga II 1.4 beta5c 2CPU.uci
[ENGINE]
Name=Anything I want
Author=Thomas Gaksch and Fabien Letouzey
Filename=C:\Chess\Engines\Toga\TogaII_1.4beta5c-2CPU.exe
This doesn't change engine name in analysis/test suites, because when starting engine name is read from exe-files's id "name " ! At least in Fritz10.
Any solution without editing exe-file?

Re: UCI engine names in Chessbase GUI
You might be able to use a Hex editor. My question is why would one want to spoof a fake name?

Because I hate names like Toga II 1.4 beta5c and Rybka 2.3.2a
