Novag Citrine AC Adaptor voltage

Post by sorcerers_apprentice »

Hi All,

This morning during a panic attack when my Novag Citrine would not turn on after a power failure (it came back to life after resetting it), I measured the AC adaptor voltage output and was astonished to find that, while rated at 9V DC, it's giving out 16.6 volts ! Let me point out that this is a brand new machine purchased just last week.

Can any other Citrine owners check the voltage output of their AC adaptor and tell me what they get ?

Thanks in advance

Remember you are measuring it "open circuit" (zero current).

So this could be completely normal...

Hi Ernest,

Thanks for your reply. Indeed I understand that I'm measuring the voltage on non-load conditions. Still I'd like to know what other Citrine owners report, just to make sure.

But this not goog for long live computer,

Open circuit not stable level is for more cheap AC adaptars, but is a very bad idea for the user.

PD: for novag, maybe not, because the problems maybe starts after guarranty 2 o 3 years.

Bye, Oliver. From spain.
