Web page is certainly dead, but I'm not sure about the project. I have seen version 1.3 playing in ChessWar XIII, section A. I guess we ought to ask Olivier when he got that version.

P.S.I have my inner feelings telling me that they renamed the engine and will release it as a commercial one....usualy,I get these feelings right....

Well, Dr.Deeb seems quite right, He is the next Tony Thomas - the walking wikipedia when it comes to comp chess news.
Spike project had long since been inactive. It's possible that authors could bring in new version but they themselves were even inactive. Last time the engine was even active was when it played in Turin. 1.3 version was sent to select few testers...that was when? nearly 3 years ago I'd guess, so Olivier must have been using the same version ever since.

Its more a sleeping project than a dead project
The best version 1.3x6 is from early 2007 and participated in CCT9, I think it is exact the version that played in the last Chesswars by Olivier Deville. There are very little differences (and probably no difference in playing strength) to 1.3x4 which participates in WBEC. It should be around 40-50 elo better than 1.2 Turin.
Sadly we could only spent very little time for computerchess in the last years, but we are following the scene with high interest though.
regards
Ralf

Pending the new version, can we have the 1.3x6?
