Sad news. I miss him. I've had a lot of chat with him, and played a game of chess with him at FICS quite a few months ago.

Hi, he must not have made any significant contributions to chess, he is not listed in Wikipedia:

What accomplishments did he make to chess? We could start a wiki article about him and note his birth, death, accomplishments, etc...

Robin was a two-time US Correspondence Chess Champion and a titled Correspondence Grandmaster

He also wrote the book "Modern Chess Analysis". It is a lost for computer chess. I wish his family well.
