i guess no one can answer that for certain Stuart as the oldest dedicated chess computer would now be only 32 years old this year
i can say though that that one is still working

Very good!
Do you mean you have been using it occasionally, and it is still working reliably and comfortably?

(OK, if it breaks after 160, (Or after 5 million moves) then they are a worthwhile investment, and 20% has already stood the test!)

well when it was first released i used to use it at least 2-3 times weekly i guess
now of course i have several other computers so i use it much less
perhaps 5-10 hours per year now
for the past 30 years ..perhaps 750 hours all together?

A working use of 15,000 hours and 1,000,000 moves within 160 years [or even just one of the three, is not bad], (with only minor repairs, like worn out wires), would make them great investments, to my mind, and enough for the value to go up and up and up.
