Greetings. I'm interested in finding a collaborator to work with on my program. Someone who is more or less on my level, the idea is that we can learn from each other, two heads are better than one, etc.
I've made posts on one or two java forums, and I keep an eye on SourceForge.net, but so far no bytes.
My impression is that here on TalkChess, everyone has their own projects, so I'm not likely to find someone here either, but if anyone is interested, send me a PM and we can talk.

Suggestions are welcome.
I think that the easiest way to get help in a project like yours is to ask specific questions.
Chess engines are pretty complex and so collaboration is an arduous task. The collaborator who is not the original author is going to have to expend a great deal of effort to understand the original code. If your code is a public project, eventually you will get some comments and help but it will probably come slowly. The best way to take the bull by the horns and get specific help is to ask the specific questions you need answered. This is the wrong forum for that. Ask in the programming forum.
Duly noted, and people here have been very helpful their answers to my questions so far. And yes I can see what you mean about some of the problems associated with working with someone else's code. I guess one issue for me is that there is far more potential work here than I will ever have time for, and I have other projects and studies too.
My project is at a stage where the engine is pretty much nonexistant, So it's not like there will be a big learning curve.
Thanks anyways Dan, It's just a hobby, so I'll keep on with my own programming and questions here, and keep my eyes for a collaborator.
