I just got around to buying the Pocket Fritz 3 program and downloaded the PF3.3 upgrade and I cannot get it to run. I used the instructions on the Chessbase website and for some reason after copying the folder on the microsd card the folder opens with Opera instead of installing.
Cannot get the program to paste the file from the microsd card to the temp folder also. I have a ATT Fuze (HTC Touch Pro) Mobile Windows 6.1 Pro 16gb micro sd card. Out of ideas will try on my Dell pda later but would be nice if I could buy a Pocket Fritz without these problems PF2 was a real pain until I stumbled across Steve Lopez instructions. Thanks for Helping in advance! Also, the Toga, Glarung engines doesn't load either.
I am not sure how you are trying this but there are several ways. One way is when you are synching your mobile with your PC is to have that cab file on your PC first and then you copy it via synch in a folder on your mobile device and run it from there. Ofcourse you can also do it by directly putting the .cab file on you SD card and running it directly via your mobile device or Pocket PC.
If your SD card is not copying, make sure you do not have it write protected. Some cards have a notch that if is on, then you can't copy anything on the card.
I was using ActiveSync 4.5.0 and created a new file on the micro sd card then pasted the PF3.3 upgrade file to the card then it doesn't install just
opens with Opera on the PDA phone. Cannot paste the file, on the card, to the temp file on the phone and the temp file is not listed on the PC so I cannot directly paste the file to the temp folder from the PC. Cannot find a way to stop Opera from launching with the file; the file is supposed to just install the upgrade.
