Fritz 11 and Deep Fritz 11 GUIs

are the updates of F11 gui applicable to DF11? I use it to play against DF11, Hiarcs and Rybka.
As I have bought DF11, and its date is 27 oct 2008, I would like to know if I should update it, and if so, where from shloud i download the latest update. With which date it will change?

Why do you want to update your DF11 ? Is too stable ?

I was just asking if any update was available? I didnt even know if it is stable or not; i can say that it looks like stable , but by the other hand, i use Vista and it never hanged , so i cannot blame Vista, but almost everybody does it.......

If you intend running other tasks on the computer, then yes.
If you're just using the machine for computer chess, shouldn't matter.

Graham is right but if you plan to run engine matches - if 1 engine is set to below normal make sure all the others are to.

My point was that you should not update a stable DF11, except the update has some new features you need.

To answer the original question. The F11 and DF11 GUIs are exactly the same, it is only the engine that is different - so yes the updates apply to both. The latest update I am aware of was Version 11.9, May 27 2009 and can be found at:

Changes since 11.7:

Chess Program:

- Crash in book with simultaneous display of next and previous moves
- Crash when closing evaluation profile through right-click menu
- Crash Shared Analysis in Rybka with 4 CPUs or more.
- Deactivation of Rybka in Engine Management
- Chess960 error if a single move disabled both white and black castling
- PGN line breaks in new annotations prevented correct annotation parsing
- Loading engine with changed parameters
- Improved handling of UCI engines which don't send "Ponder" (Zappa)
- Detailed error message if email fails (Simple MAPI errors)

Playchess:

- Storing/Loading of active channels didn't work in all circumstances
- Selection in games list could change without user action
- Improved clock handling in broadcasts
- Improved sorting of games list
- Editing engine parameters while pondering caused illegal move, stopping the game
- Playing with DGT board caused cheating message
- Improved handling of multiple take back and rematch offers
