Mephisto Rome

Post by fern »

I just crushed Mephisto Rome and I now wonder how strong it is. I have seen in the net too many different ratings. My best: no more than 1900. Nevertheless I have seen number lot higher than that.

Just because you have won one game from the Mephisto Roma does not mean it is weak Fern
you must also consider the 250+ games you have already lost before this one isolated win

anyway...
at the Time Control of 40/2 the Roma 16 bit is rated 1952 Elo
the Roma 32 is rated 2029

at the Active time control of Game/30min. the Roma 16 is rated 1996 and the Roma 32 is rated 2086

Hi Fernando,

I remember reading somewhere that the difference between Rome and Chess Genius, even version 6 (7 is presentation only stuff), is very small.
RL did not really manage to improve the engine in later years.
In that light Rome is a Genius running on slower hardware, making the Elo estimate sound realistic.

Not trying to deny being a bit envious about the complete Rome machinery regards,

Of course I did, what do you think?, I did that and I even maintaned a copious corresponde with hundreds of members advicing to vote for you. You cannot imagine how many resorces I exoended, how many arms I twisted and how many people was invited "for a stroll" by my men to ensure your election.

Chicago tactics in full regards

Certainly you are right being envidious. The Rome module run in a superb piece of machinery and furniture called Munchen. Wood, lights, sensory surface, etc. The real touch of playing a game.

It is an altogether different experiencie regards
