G-Phone Chess
What are good programs for chess on Google's G-Phone?

Re: G-Phone Chess
Tried a friend's gphone. The best seems to be chessmaster for the android. It is available for just $1 on the android app store and if you are unhappy u can get a refund within 24 hours for anything you buy.
The problem with the gphone is not so much hardware as software. The platform supports mainly java apps at this point. The strongest chess engine in java is far weaker than C/C++ engines. In addition, the mobile platform makes it more visible.
The chessmaster book is quite good but the program is not as strong as comparable programs on other platforms like the iphone. The other annoying thing about chessmaster is that in order to play at a stronger level it just increases its think time.
