Arena-GUI (current version): problems with WB engines

Post by Norbert Raimund Leisner »

Hello together,

some of the following engines which are embedded under the WinBoard-protocol with Arena-GUI (current version) make no moves with White:

Animats Chess [compiled edition by Jim Ablett]
Awesome
Arics
Fianchetto / Al Chess
Frank

I looked at the WBEC-Ridderkerk-forum, but found no other infos
(e.g. additional parameters [> command line] like "winboard" or "xboard") there.

You can download the engines here:
http://www.playwitharena.com/directory/engines.htm
http://www.playwitharena.com (Chess-GUI)

Has anybody a solution for this problem ?

Regards,
Norbert

I have not much time right now, thus I can only answer for Frank.
There is a readme with Frank and it says you have to put 'book.txt'
as a commandline parameter ;-)
