2009 US Chess960 Championship will be celebrated for the first time with GM Nakamura and Gata Kamsky on first and second table.
The 2009 US Chess960 Championship will be held this year for the first time, in St. Louis, Missouri, at the brand new St. Louis Chess Club and Scholastic Center from November 25-29 of this year

Sadly but true, the people who were organizing the first Chess960 Championship in the U.S.A. could not get enough sponsor support. Only in America big and shameful things happened

It is horrible the U.S.A could not find a decent sponsor for the first Chess960 championship, but instead it will have a ridiculous Classical World Chess Championhip, and the participants are NOT the very best players such as Anand, Kramnik, Topalov nor Levon.
