Stunning: in UEL Stockfish 1.4 is ahead of Rybka 2.2n2! Who has predicted this? Stockfish must be the engine of year 2009 :)

Hi Patrick,

There is something wrong with some games of Daydreamer.
I did not look at all games but I already noticed that Abrok
had much too low depths for the used time and cpu.
(in game 1 and game 64 which was on a different day too!)
Either something was working heavy in the background or there was swapping or another problem...
Daydreamers rating got much too high because of those games.
(BTW it also has a bug which makes it lose sometimes on time in move
40 with White when failing low in tcs time/moves)

Just one example:
At least from the red marked move on(may be even earlier) it is impossible for Abrok to make those moves on normal hardware, actually
even on a slower cpu it needs less than 1sec to avoid that blunder.

Hi Günther,

With the date it's normal. For 128 games with 5 minutes = 10 hours.

If you look the date in the PGN games 1 to 54 were playing the 5th september and the rest of the games (55 to 128) on 6th september. This just means that the tournament has begun in the evening of the 5th and end in the morning of the 6th.

The problem with Abrok 5.0 is different. On my Quad, Abrok sometimes donesn't used the CPU that is allowed. On my PIV the problem doesn't occur.
It's a bug with Abrok 5.0 on multi CPU.

I think the rating of Daydreamer 1.5 is confirm by this tournament.

Patrick

No,on my quad Q9650 overclocked to 4.0GHz,Abrok 5.0 doesn't have this kind of problem you describe....It recently played more than 60 games at long time control without any significant problems....the quad has nothing to do with that....

Hi,

But on my Quad, Abrok 5.0 doesn't use always the all CPU under Arena.

Hi Patrick,
This is strange....You mean it doesn't use all the capacity of one CPU,as it's not a MP engine....

Hi,

Yes it doen't use the capacity of onee thread. So It use not 25% of capacity but 5-10%.
But not always, sometimes it use 25%.
There are not parameters in Abrok or configuration file to prevent this. But only with Arena.
I wrote a bug in Abrok but the bug is in Abrok/Arena.

Patrick
