Two years ago Mark Lefler founded the Chess Programming Wiki. Today there are actually 1216 pages, still 1264 wanted pages. I would like to encourage people and authors and tester of chess programs to contribute, and to write small articles about their programs, or any chess programming stuff. Also discussions about the (re)structure of the wiki, pages about test-results are welcome. On Ippolit/RobboLito - after the issue has settled down a bit, we will have a page (again) for documental reasons either way. Controversial issues should be noted with appropriate references. Authors of controversial issues should abandon anonymity.

Re: CPW 2nd Anniversary
thanks to mark and all the others active in the process of making these pages.
thanks gerd.
the pages are nice, they give interesting information.
one should btw. not forget that there is a similar kind of project
for dedicated chess computers...
http://www.schach-computer.info/wiki/in ... ptseite_En
most of the pages are german...
there the many dedicated chess computers are shown,
with lots of technical details and information about the makers behind etc.
so if CPW is the Wiki of the programmers and the programs,
and schach-computer-Wiki is the site about their products,
this should maybe be melted together.
thanks gerd.

What seems like a fairy tale today may be reality tomorrow.
Here we have a fairy tale of the day after tomorrow....

Re: CPW 2nd Anniversary
I would like to thank the site authors and contributors for this wonderful wiki.
It helped me a lot to understand how an engine works and it is still the main reference I use when I have a doubt or I need some low level trick.
Thanks again ! I think it is the best reference out there for engine developers.

Re: CPW 2nd Anniversary
Thank you all for your kind and motivating words!
@Thorsten, who implicitly contributed due to all his pictures and videos, the cpw links to, without explicitly asking you for permission (but trying to mention all the "implicit" contributors).
@Marco, I would like to read a brief arcticle about Stockfish and your wonderful development team
I love to write in cpw a lot, like the multimedia features of wikispaces.com, and would like to cooperate with other wikis, like the mentioned Schachcomputer.info - Wiki and Ron Murawski's Computer-Chess Wiki, but also the wikipedia pages f.i. on bitboards need some refreshment.
Cheers,
Gerd

If you can think of any cooperation between the wikis, just let me know.
I've done some work on the computer chess section of Wikipedia, but never felt that I was expert enough to tackle some of the technical subjects like bitboards. Gerd, you are one of the best in explaining bitboards!
Best regards,
Ron

cpw has already links to your Computer-Chess wiki, see Recommended Reading and various engine pages. Your engine and private engine lists are just great. So we may share things by mutual external linkage. You may even copy stuff directly under fair usage conditions, that is mentioning and link to the source.
Best regards,
Gerd

I've added a link to the Chess Programming Wiki on my Wiki's 'Links' page. I thought that link was there, but it wasn't.
