Rybka 4 just around the corner it seems

Post by Kirk »

It will be interesting to see how much he can improve his engine. There was never an update to Rybka 3 as far as I can remember. Anyone concur?
Different from previous Rybka's with its letter updates

Have they said how much these new programs will cost?
Looks like they will have to come up with a very strong
engine to stay on top. :).

Best.

This is something that I considered as well. Frustrated by not being able to distribute Rybka 3+ through ChessOK and Chessbase he may have leaked it anonymously.

As for the source code, perhaps he was just tired of having no threatening competition and thought he could anonymously raise the stakes by putting out the R3+ code out there in hopes that a strong competitor would arise, something to give Vas the energy and incentive to improve his engine further.

Guys,

Tut Tut........jealousy is an ugly emotion to observe. Is it not much more constructive and positive to celebrate a great expert's achievement rather than to resent it ?

Just an observation from the sidelines........

I noticed that you sound like a disappointed lover in your Rybka-Hatist campaign. What harm did he do to you? Did you expect a little gift from him and he refused it?
