Smooth scaling stockfish

This version of Stockfish:
http://cap.connx.com/chess-engines/new- ... x64_ja.rar

Scales null move smoothly. I get about +150 Elo so far in my testing. How about yours?

Until I verify that the compiler macro SMOOTH_SCALING was set for Jim's build, it is probably best to test this version:
http://cap.connx.com/chess-engines/new- ... sh.exe.bz2
for 64 bit

and this version:
http://cap.connx.com/chess-engines/new- ... 32.exe.bz2
for 32 bit.

I am a bit confused, is this still Stockfish 1.6 ?

And are these 64-bit versions the same?
http://cap.connx.com/chess-engines/new- ... x64_ja.rar
http://cap.connx.com/chess-engines/new- ... sh.exe.bz2

Would be nice to let the "official" Stockfish team post something about this, like if this is 1.6.1 or something. With regards to the rating list (I am a returning CCRL member).

I can't run it, after opening with winrar I get a ? sized file and after decompression I get an exe file that can't be run (I get an error.) I tried redownloading and 7z and I got the same problem.

Could you please upload the exe alone? (without the bz2 extension)

Can you make it have a unique internal name so it can be installed besides an old version? (e.g. the JA one), I got a report from a friend that got a "already exists" error when trying to load it.

Thanks in advance.

Code: Select all

Blitz:1'+0", Noomen TS, 2-cpu

1 Rybka 3 t2 +42/-25/=33 58.50 58.5/100
2 Stockfish 1.6s JA 64bit +25/-42/=33 41.50 41.5/100

Hi swami, maybe you can upload the decompressed exe from the link I quoted? (not the JA version), I am feeling anxious that I haven't managed to run the engine that could be the strongest one at the moment

Hi Uly, here you go:

http://www.mediafire.com/?5x5i2mmlgdv

Uploaded the decompressed file quoted above. Winrar solves this easily.

I think Stockfish is not suited to this 1/0 time control. It's more suited to blitz. It's just like Zapchess when it comes to fast matches.

Thanks swami, I've got the same problem than with my decompressed exe :(, I have no idea what the problem could be, if someone knows spanish, this is the message I get after double clicking the exe file:

"The application couldn't be started because the configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application could solve the problem."
