A very Minor Update to STS (v4.0)

Post by swami »

Maarten found 2 duplicate positions in the set. We have now replaced the 2 positions with:

Code: Select all

3q1r1k/5ppp/1pR1pn2/p7/B1PP4/P3QP1P/5PK1/8 w - - bm Qe5; id "STS(v4.0) Square Vacancy.021"; c0 "Qe5=10, f4=1, Kf1=1, Kh2=1";
5rk1/3n4/3Rp1p1/2P2q1p/1p1P2n1/6P1/1B1NQ2P/6K1 b - - bm Qc2; id "STS(v4.0) Square Vacancy.062"; c0 "Qc2=10, Ndf6=4, Nxc5=4";

Hi Swami,

perhaps you can write me a short text about STS.
2-5 sentence about your work.

If I have your text I will add your text with the epd file in SCHACHWELT News-Ticker, means if I have your agreement.

If you have interest you can find my mail under:
http://www.schach-welt.de/index.php?opt ... &Itemid=76

I've just spotted another duplicate position in the STS suite:

Code: Select all

2rq1rk1/pb3p1p/1p1p2p1/4p3/1PPnP3/2N2P2/P2QB1PP/2RR2K1 w - - bm Nb5; c0 "Nb5=10, Bd3=1, Kh1=1"; id "STS: Knight Outposts/Repositioning/Centralization.023";
2rq1rk1/pb3p1p/1p1p2p1/4p3/1PPnP3/2N2P2/P2QB1PP/2RR2K1 w - - bm Nb5; id "STS(v7.0) Simplification.035"; c0 "Nb5=10, Bd3=1, Kh1=1";
I know this isn't necessarily a problem...

Thanks, Brian!

This is same position from two different suites. So, I will now discuss this with Dann, and see if one of these can become a candidate for replacement.

We've now decided to include new position in STS v3.1

The new file can be downloaded here:
http://sites.google.com/site/strategict ... ioning.epd

Changes:

Replaced the older position 23 with the new one:

Code: Select all

r7/p1r2nk1/1pNq1np1/1P1p1p2/P2Qp3/4P1P1/2R1P1BP/2R3K1 b - - bm Ng5; id "STS(v3.1) Knight Outposts/Centralization/Repositioning.023"; c0 "Ng5=10, Rac8=4, Rb7=3, Re8=3";
