Hello, sometimes when I put in the logo file path for an engine, the logo shows up in the GUI and sometimes it doesn't. I would appreciate any help for this.
Many thanks,
Gerald

What do you mean by "put in the logo file path"? If you browse for the logo file from the engine installation window, the logo should always show up.Amstaff wrote:Hello, sometimes when I put in the logo file path for an engine, the logo shows up in the GUI and sometimes it doesn't. Yes, that is what I meant. I browse and find the logo path, it shows up, sometimes it is a .jpg or .bmp file, I load it, and sometimes the logo does not show up when I start the gui for a game.

I don't use arena..
but in the fritz GUi , for an uci engine, the logo must :
- have exactely the same name of the engine
- have to be in bmp format ( and not in jpeg)
- have to LxH = 100 x 50 pixels
cordialement

Simple....the engine name and the logo must be identical....Amstaff wrote:Yes, that is what I meant. I browse and find the logo path, it shows up, sometimes it is a .jpg or .bmp file, I load it, and sometimes the logo does not show up when I start the gui for a game.
For example if you have Stockfish_16s.exe and Stockfish.jpg, you won't see your logo....

So I was dong it the long way aroundSzG wrote:Wrong, Wael. You can browse for the logo in the engine details and it can have any name, only the extension is important.Dr.Wael Deeb wrote:Simple....the engine name and the logo must be identical....Amstaff wrote:Yes, that is what I meant. Re: Arena GUI and Engine Logos
If the engine is already selected in the main window and you then set the logo for it,
the new logo will not show up until you restart the engine.
