First off, I would like to thank FICS, and especially the admin DeadKings for all the work they did to help us play this year's CCT on FICS.
Overall, I think it went really well, except the initial seeding of the event.
So I think I have figured out a way to get author accounts a proper rating and seeding for the next event.
I am willing to run a 15/0 tournament once a month on the FICS server. It will establish a rating for accounts on FICS, so when the next event starts, not only will be have a somewhat accurate rating of an engine, but we will also have a good amount of games for new authors to become established within this community.
On the same day as the 15/0, I would also run a 5/1 blitz tournament, so we can also get an established rating in the blitz category, for future CCT Blitz Events.
The only months I wouldn't run these tournaments are on ACCA Tournament weekends. This should also help Charles establish a rating(seeding) system.
If Charles would like, I could even run the ACCA Events on the FICS server and use the mamer bot. This would in the end, help as well with seeding for CCT events, as more games will be played.
Not only will this help seeding, but it will also keep the account active on FICS, so they won't get locked for inactivity.

That's a nice idea.
Arasan used not to be very active on FICS but lately I've put it on there more often - because it's actually getting more games and against more varied opponents than on ICC. I have two quads so I can actually be on both servers at once, but frequently one of them is busy with something else.

With the free accounts, it's so much easier getting onto FICS than ICC.

Make sure they do not overlap with the hgm's monthly blitz tournament.

I am thinking every 3rd Sunday of each month would be fine. I will communicate more with the other tournament holders to find out what works with them the best.

3rd Sunday would be good, as I try to keep the monthly on-line blitz tourney as much as possible on the second Saturday of the month (at 3pm EST). So there will be no collision between the events.
