Sure. But then the newly created knight on h8 simply delivers mate, rather than both delivering mate and preventing escape to g6. No, the position cannot be saved indeed. The idea was that the wNh8 should both deliver mate and prevent the black king to go to g6 if I understood that correctly. So if you put a white pawn on f5 or a black piece on g6 (no knight), the white knight is 'only' delivering mate. Hope I got the point.LiquidNitrogenOverclocker wrote:Put a white pawn on f5.
