Post by frcha »

The results of a 240G round robin tournament I tried. Each engine plays 16g with each other using a set of 8 opening positions/plies I picked. Opening books off.
4cpu ponder off, 128Mbh
3-4 Namilov tables
fb with 64ph. and 3-4 triple and total only.

40 moves in 4 minutes.

Despite beating firebird in 16 game mini-match (an amazing fluke due to the particular opening positions and luck) Rybka 3 still is second.

The 8 positions are below.. The idea was to actually let the programs play the openings from 1 or 2 plies without any aid at all, but I ended up going a few moves deeper. I think Rybka 3 was strong in the nimzo, french, and catalian. I will probably try a heads up match between R3 and FB using the openings that r3 did well in.
