Jekyll/Hyde all over again.

Gaviota's second round game was a beautiful positional game. It was a clinic on how to use the bishop pair, debilitating the color that opponent does not have, linked with opposite castling.

Gaviota's third round was as ugly as it can be. Be3? oh geez... From that point on was all downhill. I need to correct that behavior ASAP.

Thank you for your interest Miguel!
It's great when the engine authors give comments like you just did.

And yes I agree about the second round game by Gaviota, it was a beauty.

The third game was not that great perhaps, but remember
that Gaviota faced a much stronger opponent as well.

Actually Gaviota was alone in playing 3.Be3 in this round, none of the
other engines played that move. The majority of other engines played 3.Bd2.

Very interesting tournament as usual Martin.

I have a doubt, what are those cool names besides some engines, like Mirage, Inquisitor, Purifier, Templar, etc.? Do those engines have special settings?

Regards,
Carlos

PS: Nice result by Philou against CM 10th

Thanks Carlos!

Yes, the ones with extra names all have special settings that are not default.
