HIARCS got what he deserved

Post by Carlos Ylich »

HIARCS got what he deserved. By delaying the sale of the PC model to let himself be exposed to this type of situation.
But even in a less powerful hardware should show a better game. I think Mark should review a few things in the good old HIARCS.
Although not a fan of Rybka, I believe that even with a core solo he would make a better role that made HIARCS.

He referred to the last place of Hiarcs 13 in Thueringen/Germany, but it was the Mac version which played on inferior hardware.

I do no see in what sense Hiarcs got what he deserves. What he deserves is respect and appreciation being, as it is, a wonderful program, specially in games against humans. Results he can get in a comp-tourn, perhaps with inadequate hardware, does not mean a thing.

+1. The programs are so strong nowadays that sheer strength is not a factor for me these days. Other factors such as GUI, customer service and so on are more important to me.

Neither form me, as I have said here many times. But in Hiarcs, though not with a proper gui, there is style.

He was not talking down Hiarcs, he merely pointed out the attitude of it's publishers...
