Hi Folks:
I have a set of tablebases I purchased from Chessbase about 9 years ago. I wanted to check that the tablebase files are all good... and not corrupted.
I tried looking for a program online: I found "Wilhelm" but the link appears to be dead. Any idea where I can download "Wilhelm" or a similar program?
Thanks,
Matthew

The zip file downloaded, not sure what version of Wilhelm it is. You can't always go by the version # shown on the page when dealing with the web archive. 99.5% of the time the page is correct though.

I checked the version of Wilhelm that is available from the web archive and it is version 1.49.
The last version of Wilhelm that Rafael Andrist released was version 1.50.
I you want version 1.50 of Wilhelm, I have uploaded it to here.

Maybe save the download to disc if you can.

Re: Program to Check Integrity of Tablebases?
The best utility comes with the chess engine Frenzee Feb08....
Here's the readme file:
Readme for Md5Checker.exe
-------------------------
Md5Checker is a small utility for verification
of the Nalimov endgame tables.
Place the Md5Checker.exe and the corresponding *.md5 file(s)
in the same folder as the endgame tables you want to verify.
Run the exe and press the "verify" button in the dialog that appears.
If a file is corrupt you need to replace it.
Here is the link but I don't see the Feb08 version....
I'll upload the tool for you if you want....

Re: Program to Check Integrity of Tablebases?
The last time I checked the Feb08 version is still on the computerskak.dk server but would it be right to post a link to it here since the website owner and the utilities author took it off the website? I'm thinking not the right thing to do but still I've given more than a hint that it can still be gotten from the server.Dr.Wael Deeb wrote:The best utility comes with the chess engine Frenzee Feb08....
