I don't think it can be said I am a Rybka supporter by any means.
Sure I defended Rybka (Vas) over the whole "Rybka 3+" debate as I saw it as stupid, but I think it is pretty clear where I stand on issues.
As for openly supporting programs, I think Crafty and Hiarcs would be the _only_ two that I have stood behind for years. Due to part for my respect level of the authors.

I was kicked out of Chapters because I moved all the Bibles to the fiction section.

I mean, Marie, surely you have been around long enough to know better than that. Thats almost slunder and defamation to these gentlemen!
Oh, I am not sure with Wael. I believe that Wael loves Rybka like most do. He doesn't like how things were handled with Rybka 3 and proposed updates so therefor he protests a lot about Vasik - but he would not do that if he wouldn't care. So to have Wael in a list of Rybka lovers (NOT Vas lovers, you have to differentiate here) isn't too wrong, imo. I mean Wael is chessplayer and chess engine addict and Rybka 1,2 & 3 (we do not know enough yet about 4) were definitely break throughs in computer chess. Whatever you might believe about Rybkas origins, the above mentioned engines definitely stay as gems, we shouldn't forget about that.
It's different with Bob, I think he hates Vas (of course he will deny, but that is how it looks like the last few month) and he doesn't care about Rybka therefor you are right in this case, he doesn't belong to that list...
Anyway if I had to pick my favourite chess engines over the years I doubt Rybka would get into the top 20. Here are just 10 of them......
AnMon
Shredder
Fritz
Hiarcs
Rebel
Der Bringer
Abrok
Crafty
Little Goliath
Spike
Which engines do I support? That is a different question. The engines I support are all rated below 2300 elo. Without such authors we would have no new engines to play with in Arena.
Rybka is not in the that list either (at least not anymore it is not).
A more pertinent way to word the question would be what side of the Ippolit/Rybka debate people are on.
Anyway......let's make a troll list.
We could then look at who is on the Ippolit supporters list and is also on the troll list. I suspect you would find a lot of correlation between those two lists.

If we are talking about love for the engine then that list should surely be increased because nearly everyone on both sides of the cloning debate love Rybka.
Bob is a special case, because he says he has no love for Rybka and its creator because the engine was illegitimately derived from fruit. Thats why his sympathies are with the IP**s because, even though we know they are derived engines, their origins are clearly unknown. You understand dont you?

When your definition of "troll" is "someone who openly discusses Ippolit in non-negative terms on TalkChess", then yes, there will be a lot of overlap.
