Rybka Hash Tables Size

Post by javieros »

If you organize an engine tournament under Fritz/Chessbase GUI with Rybka and select equal Hash Table Size for all the participants, Rybka will take this amount of RAM for each CPU of the processor. For example in a dual processor, Rybka will take the double than its opponents.

One can check this easily by keying Ctrl-Alt-Del, activating the task manager and view the memory used for each thread.

Have the tournaments organizers taken this into account?

Best regards

The task manager doesn't give a complete picture on how the memory, RAM, is distributed in Windows. You should verify this with RAMMAP, a tool to see how the RAM is used under Windows. See here about RAMMAP: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysi ... 00229.aspx
