Hi David,

I don't know from where you have this #19 result, but this position is in the ChestUCI database as #16:

2N5/8/8/p3PP2/2P1P3/p5B1/P3P1pP/3K1krb w - - bm #16; --:-- @ C0/R0/K6/P2/X10;

Some of the mode settings are designed to be time savers, but they can result in a less than optimal mate.

The time savings can be significant.
This command:
chest319 -b -M 500 -z 16 dm16.epd
has been running on my PC for 2 hours and 44 minutes and it is not finished yet. When (and if) it does finish, I predict it will say mate in 16.

Hi David,

just use 'Special' mode - this automatically uses the correct parameter whenever the position is already in the database.

The time --:-- for this mate means that it's much too long for my old notebook CPU which I usually use for testing, so I can't tell you how long it will take. IIRC I've got these parametes from Ignacio Santos with his quite fast computer, and I guess it will need maybe 10 minutes.
