Interesting, does it play on ICC or FICS as well?

Tried the client as well on a sandboxed machine.

Not yet. The cluster is available online with its standalone client component.
In any event that sounds like a plan. May be done in near future.

Sounds good. Make sure you visit the Analytic Center as well.

The website doesn't explain very well what exactly this is. Can you say more about what this does? How it works? What's going on?

Cluster is synthesizing the tree of the best moves starting from the initial position.
What it does and how it works may be observed in the third tab which is called Analytic Center.
There you can notice the count of already evaluated positions and observe how the estimation of certain move is changing during the dynamical transformations of the tree.
Try to look into Analytic Center. That should be of your help in understanding what it does and how it works.
