UCI: "info refutation ..."

UCI: "info refutation ..."

What additional info is being provided by an engine that sends "info refutation ..."? It seems to me that the "refutation" is simply the second move in the pv string. What am I missing?

I've never used this myself, but it looks like you can express a refutation for any move, not just the best. It's something like "d1h5 is not the best move because g6h5 refutes it."
