Burning Chesslecture Videos to DVD w/Windows Media Player 11

Post by tina009 »

I am a member at Chesslecture.com. I am able to download videos which, in turn, I am suppose to be able to burn to CD or DVD.
I can't figure out how to burn video/ .wmv files to DVD using WMP 11 on my Vista machine. Also, when I hit f3 and try to manually add the folder containing these videos, the player always proceeds to search through all the folders. Is there some way to limit the search to this recently created "Videos" folder.
(If it matters, this folder is located on an external hard drive, and it has less than only about 1 or 2% of the disk space used. But the path is very simple --> G: videos.)
I can see that during the exhaustive search for new files to add, the search does look through G: videos, yet when it finishes there are no new added files.
I tried to use one of the suite of programs that came with "Nero 7 Essentials," and I got a little further; but, when it came time to add files to playlist there was a message telling me that due to "Digital Media Rights" I could not proceed.
(And I don't know if this matters, but till now I had only added music/ MP3 - these video files are quite a bit larger, the average about from 18-40 MB. )
I really appreciate any suggestions.

Get a DVD/CD burning package from here:
http://sourceforge.net/search/?words=dv ... &limit=100

The one I use costs money, but there are pleny of free ones you can find at the site up above.

Hello Dann,

I hope everything is alright with you because your chess-site http://cap.connx.com/ seems to be unreachable, for several weeks now.

You got another Talkchess account based from your home I saw, possibly in anticipation of some of this. I hope the cap.connx company is not in such bad trouble that they can not even pay to maintain a website anymore, but more importantly that you are in good health.

The reason I respond to this old post is in case Tina R. was not another of Sean Evans' incarnations', I would like to apologize for not answering because we are just a little wary, of all those new members that seem to know much more that the average beginner. Maybe Tina really was called Tina :) In that case I hope she accepts belated apologies and thank you for answering her question Dann.

Apologetic Regards to Dann and Tina,

Eelco
