Hi Sedat,

great work you do for us, again and again!

Nice to see that Francesca is in your list. Strong performance from Houdini 1.5.

I have a problem only with Rybka 4 with and without ponder. This should be check with more games I think.

Have thanks and have a nice Xmas.

Hi Sedat,

Thanks for including my meagre little engine in your test! Perhaps, with luck and effort I could break into the top 100 :D

Tom

Hello Frank,

Thank you for your kind words/interesting comments...

What kind of Rybka 4 ponder problems do you have ?
I mean, you are planning to test Rybka like your previous Crafty ponder off/on ?

I wish you happy new year too !!

Greetings,
Sedat

Hi Sedat,

no, I mean the different in your list between Rybka 4 with and without ponder is interesting. Perhaps with more games will be the different bigger. I don't know.

All other of your ratings are quit clear for me. Nice to have your list and I hope you continue your work on your ratinglist in the next year.

Hello Frank,

Why...Rybka exp 61 T1 is played with ponder on and performed approx.40 elo better than Rybka 4 T1 ponder off ?! :)
(just a little joke, probably the setting has played a big role)

Actually i expected too that Rybka 4 (with ponder on) to be ranked at least 15-20 elo better than Rybka 4 (with ponder off)

Normally against each other (in auto232 mode) Rybka 4 (with ponder on) won with clear difference

The both elo standings are almost same, probably due to both Rybka 4 T1 participants have been tested against different participants:
-Rybka 4 T1 ponder off:exception against Rybka ponder on,all of its opponents were MP Engines (using 4 threads)
-Rybka 4 T1 ponder on:played against only single processor engines or against MP engines, but using one thread

Even with Elostat calculation, the both r4 participants (ponder on/off) have almost equal points

Code: Select all

Program Elo + - Games Score Av.Op. Draws

  1 Houdini 1.5 x64 T4 : 3368 27 27 780 85.4 % 3060 19.4 %

  4 Rybka 3 x64 T4 : 3239 17 17 1070 68.6 % 3103 37.1 %

  9 Stockfish 1.7.1 JA x64 T4 : 3201 17 17 930 65.7 % 3088 44.7 %
