Sedat,

please check the database.
I played this tourney with your great Perfect 2011 opening book.
2 opening systems produced remis games after 21 moves (in my opinion should be deleted).

Have thanks for your great opening book!

Hello Dear Frank !

First of all i'd like to thank you for running one of the greatest/interesting computer chess tournaments that i have ever seen !

About the current tournament standings,
As i expected, the Winner is Houdini-the Biggest Chess Engine Monster !!

Really it was a long maraton and i have a lot of fun with your Champions-League

About the short draw games,
Nowadays i am too busy with my business, but later i will check and see and i will do my best to optimize those move lines

And i'd like to thank you again for your interest and for using my Perfect opening books since many years

Best Wishes,
Sedat

Hi Dann,

Rybka is normaly out of tourney after round 3.
Have a look in the tables "round 3 of 4".

Rybka won the "Smal final" and is "Lucky Winner" ... LW

As LW Rybka have to play the final!

Hi Sedat,

thanks for your fine words. With your opening book the Champions-League is much more interesting and the visitors has fun with it.

Honest, for "live-looking" are 12 hours games very boring, for analyzes great. Now I am happy that I can restart again my SWCR ratinglist with a big SWCR-32 update tourney :-)

Thanks again!

Hello Frank,

You are welcome, its my pleasure... :)

Right now i have looked more closely about the short draw games played by Perfect 2011 book
And noticed that there are 10 games which are ended in draw up to 21 moves (based on your Champions League-738's games)

In other words, that means under your conditions...there are chances to appear 3 short games in 200 games :)

So far...for avoiding these short draw openings (in P2010/11 book) i am working over them more than one year and for example especially B97 opening (in Perfect 2011.ctg) is already edited/fixed in 17th move, but as far as i know unfortunately Shredder GUI/Arena GUI dont have the same book options like FritzGUI,i mean they can not be edited in 17th move (as you know,Perfect 2011 book is up to 8 moves)

Please check more carefully these statistics/snapshots,which are based on games played by Perfect 2011 book

As we see, almost all engines produce different results, for example based on hundreds of games played exactly on the same opening position...

BTW,i am much more interested in optimizing the move lines which engines perform the winning percentage bellow 40-45% (for Blacks) and bellow 50-55% (for Whites)

Best Regards,
Sedat

Hi Sedat,

OK, OK ... a profi is working :-)
Quiet clear now!

Have thanks for your information in detail.

Very interesting is your following sentence:
"BTW,i am much more interested in optimizing the move lines which engines perform the winning percentage bellow 40-45% (for Blacks) and bellow 50-55% (for Whites)"

That's what I like. To try to make own works perfect. So each one can very esay see what you have in your brain if you are looking on such information.

That's what I like from engine programmers too. To get more information about the own ideas and work. Your opening book system seems to be comparable with a complicated source code an engine programmer is working.

Have a nice weekend Sedat !!

Best
Frank

PS:
I must have your final version from Perfect 2011 directly if ready :-)

Hello Frank,

Thank you for your interesting comments...

Yes...honestly still i can not find the way to make my book move lines to be in reality perfect, but anyway i am doing my best to find one the strongest opening lines and i feel a big regret in case of finding a game lost due to weak book opening

Another very important note for me is that (before to release the final P2011 books) i care/check very carefully the game results which have been ended in favor for weaker participants (when there is 200-300 or more elo difference),i mean for example Houdini/Stockfish,Rybka... lost or scored with a draw against Komodo,Sjeng,Thinker...
That's what I like from engine programmers too. To get more information about the own ideas and work. Your opening book system seems to be comparable with a complicated source code an engine programmer is working.
I am not a chess programmer, but as a opening book author my feelings says that nowadays its very hard to find an original work,as we see many engine/book authors just are coping/importing the ideas from others work

Another interesting note is that the most talking is about only top engines, which is clone or not:Houdini,Rybka... and what about rest engines ?! or what about opening books ? who creates original work that all ideas are belonging only to one author ?

For this we need notarius :)

And one thing more i strongly believe that there are many others engines which are clones/deritives,i mean based on others free open source engines, but still they have been testing as original work by many chess engine testers

Without this i can not:
-Yes,nowadays Houdini is on the TOP and all eyes are on it,actually this would be a better explanation about Houdini's performance:
-it is flying over the world's highest mountain ''Everest'' :)

About releasing of Perfect 2011 books,
Very soon dear Frank, just patience is needed

And i wish you a nice weekend too

Greetings,
Sedat
