I would like to congratulate with Komodo's team, really an impressive result! I am sure this year someone will finally overcome R4 ! I mean, starting from below, I don't count who already started from aboveIWB wrote:And today, 2011.06.17 the IPON has the most hits of all times!

Thanks. Since we're already tied with R4 on IPON (and one point ahead on CEGT last I looked), I would say someone will overcome R4 this week, rather than this year, since we have averaged 4 Elo per week so far this year with no slowdown yet. Now overcoming Houdini will take some time and effort.

R4 on 6 threads is still an awfully formidable foe to Komodo {and anyone else, for that matter}.lkaufman wrote:Thanks. Apples to oranges, maybe.
I hope that in 6 months Komodo will be the strongest engine in the world {Period! Bring on all challengers on any hardware}.
Of course, Robert Houdart probably won't sit still for that. I guess that more than a few notable chess programmers have already noticed a cannon shot across the bow.
