Interesting, Clemens!
Especially, for me, your next result of Komodo against Houdini...
...since in my tests I found that Houdini quite soundly beats Komodo (61%), while Ingo and yourself obtained more a 50-50 match result.
But I did not (could not) use the Komodo SSE version.

Thanks for running this. One comment: the Noomen set, if we're talking about the same one, keeps the engines in book much longer than is normally done in engine testing, I believe. This of course favors the program that plays worse in the opening on its own. I believe that Komodo is relatively strong in the opening. Whether this is a significant factor I don't know.

hello LArry
the NoomenTestsuite2008 is downloadable when you click on the name at my webpage. I did this, because everyone can see then what is still played, and what comes next.
As a big fan of Komodo, I hope for good results.
Maybe I should have taken a different time control. Many games are decided before the time control. 60/120' +30 would have been better.
kind regards, Clemens

Hi Ernest
in the second gauntlet I used Komodo3-64-sse.
This version is a little slower than komodo64 3 sse and had 40% vs Houdini.
You can compare the crosstablest the history section.

Hi Clemens,
Any idea of the speed ratio (how much slower)?
Going from 50% to 40% is a lot...

something seems to be wrong with the games.
see the following games
For some reason Critter get only depth 1 and only a draw in an endgame
of KBN vs K.
In the second game
Komodo gives the half point to fire by blundering in a tablebase drawn endgame (127.Kb5 is the only drawing move)
Note that it seems that the book ends with positions that are probably a forced win for white in part of the games.
games 13-20 are all wins for white and I guess that the following line is winning for white(and it is a bad choice of opening)
1. e4 c5 2. Nf3 d6 3. d4 cxd4 4. Nxd4 Nf6 5. Nc3 g6 6. Be3 Bg7 7. f3 O-O 8. Qd2

see the following games
For some reason Critter get only depth 1 and only a draw in an endgame
of KBN vs K.
This is Critter's fault. Version 1.2 without tablebases hangs when KBNK position is reached (due to a bug).

Hello Uri
All games are played without any tablebases. Some engines are blundering sometimes without tablebases. I cannot avoid this. Also I dont want to use tablebases, as long as some engines of the matches cannot use them.
kind regards, Clemens
