MORE about Arasan 13.1

Post by fern »

Definitively this is an altogether different animal. His attacking abilities are far superior to those of previous Arasan engines and it is superior to many engines to date higher ranked in the known lists.
The other explanation is that I, in just a week, suffered such a dismal and precipitorusly fall of my chess strenght that the same I would be saying of Chess master 2000. But I do not think so. I have no way to guess what Jon Dart did, but certainly, no matter what his own tests say, this is another Arasan, for better, much better.

I'm glad you like it. I think this version is stronger than the 12.x and 11.x series but I don't think it is by a lot. This version scored 55-57% against 11.7 in some offline matches I ran. But the evaluation is different in many respects so you may notice a different playing style.

Hi,

Arasan 13.1 seems not better than 13.0 in my tournaments.

well, that is the point: different style. For a human, such a thing can bring VERY different results. The current style of Arasan is, for me, lot more toxic than previous AND thta osf known engines. I feel more copmfortable fighting Rybka or Houdini than tthis Arasan.
