Open Source Blitz: DoubleCheck 2.5.4 (+83 elo!)

Post by lucasart »

Just a couple of apparently small bugfixes... Seem to have a huge effect on playing strength, as those were related to the evaluation of passed pawns, which is one of the most important part of an eval IMO. This version will soon appear on WBEC, just need to make a few cosmetic but non functional changes

I've just realized that 1'+1" is bullet rather than blitz. I'll change the name of this list to "Open Source Bullet" next time.

But what is the official limit between bullet and blitz ? Is 2'+2" still bullet or is it blitz ?

You're welcome :D

I can't wait to see how it scores in the final of the 5th division of WBEC.

ICC Help: etime

Code: Select all

"etime" is the initial time plus 2/3 the increment. E.g. a 2 12 game has an "etime" of 10, while a 5 0 game has an etime of 5. The idea is this is the time (in minutes) available if the game goes 40 moves.

"bullet" -- Games with etime less than 3.
"blitz" -- Games with etime less than 15 and greater than or
                equal to 3.
"standard" -- Games with etime greater than or equal to 15.
For 2+2 that could be blitz :)

Any chance of a 32-bit version of each release Lucas?

I guess I could do it. I'm just very lazy :D
All I need to do is install a couple of packages for my gcc/mingw to produce linux/windows 32 bit executables. I'll have a look and see if I can do a 32 bit windows compile.

Otherwise Jim Ablett compiles DoubleCheck. The last JA version is 2.5, but it's probably best to wait for 2.5.4 JA as 2.5.4 is significantly stronger than 2.5, if you want to do any testing.
