Ivanhoe B47d x32 vs. Stockfish 2.2.2
As I said I might, I am giving you the results of the above match. Stockfish is very strong and a very well constucted engine- but it is not enough here:
1CPU/32bit
128MB hash
Bases=NONE
Ponder_Learning=OFF
Perfect 12.32 book w/12-move limit
40/3 Repeating
Match=50 games
Ivanhoe B47d x32 [PP]....+49------+16/-9/=25-----57.00%-----28.5/50
Stockfish 2.2.2...................-49------+9/-16/=25-----43.00%-----21.5/50
Cannot comment further. Have other posting and I promised Roberto that I would do some extensive beta testing on Vitruvius. And I must see my mental health therapist. Lot to do.

I am just curious how you beta test something that has already been commercially released? Is there a new version already?geots wrote:Ivanhoe B47d x32 vs. Stockfish 2.2.2

Agreed. You won't get any disagreement from me. In fact, that was my first thought. The only thing I can figure is when you extract, you realize there are so many settings you can change for blitz and longer games (longer meaning over 15 min. on average to play). There are suggested settings and then possible changes here and there that might bring better results. I think he would like something he could tell a customer other than to spend a couple months finding out for himself. If you think this should have been taken care of before the release, I would be one to agree with you. Other than that, I really don't know what to say. If you read above- I said "the only thing I could figure"- which tells you I'm not real sure either- except it is the version for sale we are beta testing. Go figure.
Best regards,
george

I am interested to see what happens with Vitruvius. I like its analysis so far. Good partner for Houdini and Komodo.

I am thinking now I was wrong when I stated that it would be nowhere near as strong as DeepSaros- which just finished destroying Komodo 4,
Naum 4.2, Rybka 4.1 and Stockfish 2.2.2
You sound as if you have already bought Vitruvius. If so, you will more than get enough for your money, Right now we are trying to determine the best settings (around 10 of them) for blitz and longer games. So the buyers won't have to run 100 tests just to see which setting changes to make. Just in case you have bought it, whether you are running 32 or 64bit- if you are not aware, "Conservative" is for games and matches against other engines. "Human" is much better to do your analysis with.
Have fun,
george

I have been doing analysis with the "Human" engine. Robert Flescher posted results from a match of Vitruvius Human against Komodo 4 where Vitruvius did very well. (they are somewhere on this forum)

I did not know the results he got, but I knew he was helping Roberto also. Along with I think, Misha, Dom Leste, Ipman and Sedat. We are trying to get a lot done in a short time. Roberto is really adamant about you guys getting your moneys worth. Hard to believe with all we have seen in 2011, but that is what will give him the most joy. And he wants to be sure his customers are satisfied.
Best,
george
