I thought I would let you know I am still here, but have no more updates at present. I decided to halt everything until I could get this new system set up. And as usual there are always issues you don't expect that bog you down. But I am getting there, and hopefully it should not be too much longer.
One thing was a big help. First I installed Fritz 11, tho it only auto installed Fritz 11 and 1 Crafty version with the gui install. But I was not interested in that. I only needed Chessbase folders that are installed along with it. That way I had a path to copy the folder with all my engine folders over at one time with an external hard drive and get them where they needed to be. Then I did the same with my Engines.uci folder. I was able to bring it over and copy it to its location. That meant I had all the 1kbUci files created each time an engine is loaded in their folder and in the proper place on the new system (along with each engine folder as well). Then I said a little prayer, took a couple deep breaths and opened Fritz 11. Then I clicked on Engines/Change Main Engine- closed my eyes, and when I looked I had gotten lucky! All 545 engines loaded in my other i5 were now auto-loaded in Fritz 11 on the new system! Strange at times. You never know. When I tried it with the first Intel i5 back in January- it would not let me get away with it. But at least it wasn't 545 engines then, only about 125. I had to load each manually. Loading 545 1 at a time is a whole nuther animal.
And once they are in Fritz 11- they always auto show up in Fritz 13 when you install it. That is standard. You just have to be sure they are in Fritz 11 first. If you switch the order, they will not play in Fritz 11.
Anyway, I am still breathing- which I know make each of you feel a lot better just knowing that. I would hate for you guys to have to struggle on w/o me. Progress-progress-progress- should be some updates soon, and someone please email to remind me to change the power setting for sleep to "NEVER" this time before I start.
