TBOC_7 (Breslau Variation)

Hi,

i started a new tournament called "TBOC_7" to find out more about the famous "Breslauer Variante" in the open spanish opening.

Once long time ago the move 10. Re1 seems to be a strong move, but in 1913 Mr. Bergman and Tarrasch found the interesting continuation...
which leads to the following position:

so black sacrifies a bishop for a pawn, to make use of it's faster development to get a strong attack on the white king...

All Engines play, starting with this position, at Time control 40m in 180min, followed bei 40m in 120 min, rest in 5min + 30 s
but this time without ponder, so most engines but komodo can use 4 Cores....

What do you think, is this position playable or even good for black?

Here is a game which was won be Deep Fritz 13, Fritz found a very good move, (16. Re1) which stops the black attacking possibilies and leads to a better endgame for white.....

This is not commonly played nowadays. The first piece sac (12. .. Bd6) might be ok, but the line with the Bishop sac 15. .. Bxh3 is bad for Black. A fairly recent example:

Fritz is not exactly orginal with that 16th move. Actually, the game follows Botvinnik-Kan, 1952, through white's 21st move.
