So an update. I now have my new 4-core i5 networked to my 9 month old 4-core i5. All I have to do is tap the "scroll lock" key and it switches from one i5 to the other. And I have a switch with 2 lights that always tells me which one I am on. So I can be online with both at the same time- tho I cannot imagine why I would want to. Running them thru the same monitor works extremely well as they both call for the same resolution. Another big "plus" is that I can just copy or move a file from one i5 to the other just like I was moving it from one folder to the other in the same system.
All that is left is for me to get some engines loaded into a couple of the guis in the new one, and I will be ready to continue on with the FREEWARE RRs. (And I still have the 4CPU XP 64-bit system waiting on me.)
One note of interest. When benchmarked with Crafty- as you have seen in the RRs, both the XP system and my first i5 run 40/40 at 40/21. This latest and new i5, being a bit faster- benchmarks 40/40 at 40/18, or 40/19. One or the other- I will have to check again.
Anyway, another day or 2 and I will be rolling again.
