Testing : Bouquet 1.6

Post by WuShock »

I've seen some varying opinions on the strength ......

Here's mine so far :

i7 / 940 @ 2.93
2 Threads each
W8 / Fritz 12 GUI / 512 mg / klo_openings

Time control : 1 min + 1 sec

Also running a tournament , about 1/4 done so far , and Bouquet is doing well there also

Viewing the lists, Bouquet performs better at long time.

Or it may be a matter of different computers.
Is that this version is somewhat slower than the previous one,
more code,
that slows it down a bit,
but I hope there will be more "knowledge assessment".
It is difficult with limited hardware resources, test engine ,
often I distrust intuition.
8-)

Thanks for the Test.

Not bad. The only problem so far is- call it "same song- different verse"- Bouquet_1.6 pop64 gets pounded into submission by Strelka 5.5. There are absolutely no freeware engines that can handle Strelka in a heads-up match with 64-bit 1CPU (unless you include Houdini 1.5a). The only 2 that for some reason can play him extremely close are Fire 2.2b xTreme GH x64 and IvanHoe 50kQ x64 SSE4.2- the new IvanHoe compile by Mr. "Q" himself.. Every 50 game match I run at 4'+2" he scores around 20 elo stronger than Fire and IvanHoe 50kQ- but against the strongest Ivanhoe until 50kQ came along- 46h- he scores close to +45 elo. Also +45 elo ag. Bouquet 1.6 pop64. Strelka is a beast. There is only one engine in existence that has no trouble at all with him.

BTW- I can easily recognize Engine X. I would have expected the latest one to do better than this.

Good testing you have done-

gts

PS: This is a new Fire executable that has a split depth problem fixed. Especially after the problem is taken care of- George has done a fabulous job with this compile.
