After 300 games, Robodini 1.1 and Houdini 3 Pro seem to be similar in strength. Regards from Barcelona.

Naturally it does.

However from my tests (just to see how the RE was faithful) at longer time controls the gap increases and the original is stronger by about 20-25 elo.

Naturally I didn't play enough games to be sure nor I intend to, but that seems to be the trend. I don't know in 32 bit, maybe there the thing is different.

I was also curious and got in fast games:

1 Houdini 3 x64 +46/=109/-45 50.25% 100.5/200
2 Robodini 1.1 +45/=109/-46 49.75% 99.5/200

I certainly did not get such good Robodini 1.1 result against Houdini 3.

Dualcore@3Ghz, Win XP 64-bit
1 real core
Ponder: On.
GUI: Fritz 11
Book: PB5m (5 moves)
Time control: 2'+1"
Nalimov5 (used by Houdini, and only at GUI level by Robodini)

Houdini 3 x64 Nlm 1Thread - Robodini 1.1 x64 -Ponder
+60 -30 =86 103-73 (total 176 games)
58.5% or +61 Elo (95% error-bar: ±38 Elo) for Houdini 3

I am a bit surprised that you posted a thread on this train wreck. And tested it. Scrape off the icing and it is just Houdini beating Houdini. The gap you speak of depends on 2 things for the most part- and one isn't the time control. To be specific: 1.Which Houdini you are running ag. it? 2.And "it" would be which Houdini exactly? You can take it to the bank that it is about as close to being a RE RobboLito as I am to ever being Hope Solo's husband.
