Hi Geert.

I see that in your tournament engines using 6 CPUs, which seems appropriate, if a programmer makes his engine with support for multiple CPUs then engien should to play with more than 1 CPU. However, in your tournament engines play also mode ponder off.

I think that should be activated first ponder on and then set the number of CPUs, maybe instead of set 6 CPUs you could give 3. I could understand that ponder is disabled if the computer can be damaged during the tournament.

It's just my opinion.

I will send an e-mail.

Hello Pedro,
Thanks for your reply. I understand your point of view, at least I think I do. The difference between multicore progrmas using 6CPU and singlecore in ponder off mode is to big.
When I started my tournament 2 years ago, I thought that more programmers would try to make their program multicore. I cannot change the rules now cause the tournament has started in July. Anyway, I plan to organize other tournaments where singlecore programs will meet other singlecores, and multicores will face multicores. I agree that in CountryChess this is not well balanced.

But multicore or not, the winner of CC01 and CC02 was Komodo, a singlecore engine at that time. :-)

Best wishes and good luck with DanaSah!
