Anyone know about this product? Seems to have the same name as the old Mephisto product.
Thanks

Re: PowerBrain Voice Master - Talking Chess Academy
There are many computers like this with different names. The level of strength for chess is very low, I think it is the same as Millennium Orion 6 in 1 and this is 1009 Activ Elo points. I would buy this machine if you really has interest on other games (not chess). This machine usually done mate in two (or perhaps three) and is hard to offer you some resistance in chess.

This machine is similar to the following:
http://tluif.home.xs4all.nl/chescom/EngMillOIC.html
http://www.classicchessandgames.com/Mil ... elM204.htm
Your "machine" has speech and this has instead stored games of world champions. Forget Seller 2100 Elo points, you can see how lost with Fritz 8 in 1 ply.
In my opinion better Lexibook machine (Activ Elo 1277) with ponder.
You should first know your Elo or Elo computer that you need, then look in the list Activ a machine with a similar Elo (new or second hand).

The 2100 Looks very disturbing. I guess it is a typo and means 1200.
also it is Not Said if elo is meant.
I Would demand the Company to change this. In Germany e.g. Such Advertising with wrong facts is Not Allowed because the Customer is betrayed.
Guess Somebody buys it expecting a strong opponent and gets the 1000 ell machine
Instead. If this is not a betrayal I don't know what betrayal is, how is the law in USA ? Can you claim whatever things you wish for a product ?

What seems like a fairy tale today may be reality tomorrow.
Here we have a fairy tale of the day after tomorrow....

However, the new Talking Chess Academy II is extremely strong. Over 2650! I'm still testing it, but here is the relevant thread with the games I've played with it: https://hiarcs.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=13772
