Scorpio Egbb 3.0 via Torrent Available

Post by jshriver »

I added the latest 3-4-5 Scoprio Egbb to my site. It's also set to grab from my website in case there are no seeders. With just that I was able to re-download at 1.5 megs a second.

Enjoy!
-Josh

P.S. Looks like the Syzygy set is still going strong.

Thanks Josh, I have already completed the 3-4-5 men Syzygy, and going for the tough 6-men :)

Don't think I have forgotten about the 6-men. All pawn less are done now and size is 20 GB, which is a bit much. It turns out that the reason for this this increased size compared to the old one, i.e for 5 men from 220mb --> 320mb, using the new format was that I set illegal (broken) positions for one of the sides wrong. This one character long bug is going to require a second pass through the whole 100GB database one more time, would you believe it? But it will be faster than generation, and also we are back to old sizes without changing the format which is what I liked the most. I am almost done with the single pawn cases so I will let it finish the 6 men generation with the bug. Then I will let 'my' 100 cores worry about doing the second pass and wake me up when its done. I feel so powerful pushing buttons :P

Nice :) Let me know, or let me know when the final generator is done and I can start generating them too.

I am saving you and the whole word from the slowest egbb generator ever :) Trust me you don't want to start it unless you have 100 cores and atleast 400GB RAM. But I will release it after I fix the bugs and added everything that needs to be added such as native crc checks etc. Some 6 men files are almost 1Gb big now.
