Little Blitzer Testing Trouble

Post by lkaufman »

I have recently noticed a severe problem when testing on my 16 core Intel machine using LittleBlitzer in Windows 7 in Gauntlet mode. When I run two eight game matches, one acts normally but the other one always shows the first-named engine to be losing by huge margins (way beyond error margin), and also shows a much higher than normal percentage of draws. Running one big 16 thread test doesn't change anything. Changing hash size doesn't help either.
The problem appears to go away in Round Robin mode, presumably because there is no replay with colors reversed. I would rather test with color-reversed replay of opoenings, but it doesn't work on this machine. I don't seem to have this problem on my newer 20 core Windows 8 machine.
Does anyone have a clue as to what could be wrong?
