Survival of the Fittest 12 - sibling rivalry

Sure ended up with multiple versions of same program in this one - 3 DiscoCheck versions, 3 Arasan versions, 2 NirvanaChess versions - will be curious to see if the newer versions will manage to end up above their older siblings.

(Ratings are a normalized average of multiple rating lists, weighted together with bayeselo performance from previous rounds, and should only be seen as a rough guess.)

That's the 21 participating programs - the ones at the bottom at the end will get knocked out and not be part of the next round.

The tournament is a double round robin (420 games total), and time control will be 8 minutes + 4 seconds increment / move. The programs that support multiple cores are generally allowed to use 4 cores out of my 6 available. Hash is set fairly low - only 256 MB - for the same reason that 2 cores are unused: so that me using the computer while games are running won't interfere with the engines.

5 men Gaviota, Nalimov, Scorpio, Syzygy, and 4 men Shredder TBs/BBs are installed and enabled for the programs that support them (except those where TBs would sometimes cause crashes or problems).

I am using Lyudmil Tsvetkov's 2-move book ( http://talkchess.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=50382 ) with the 3 extra positions, 1003 positions total, and with the return game using the same opening.

Suggestions for programs to include in the future are always welcome :)

The three Discocheck versions, and the two NirvanaChess versions finished with the more recent version ahead. The most recent Arasan failed to qualify for the next round though, whereas its two older siblings did.

There were a few forfeits: SmarThink 1.50, 2x BugChess2 1.9, 2x Cheng4 0.36a.

Fruit 2.3.1 and upwards qualify for the next round, which will start tonight or tomorrow, whereas Arasan 16.3 and downwards are knocked out from this series.
